The Camelback Fellowship is a six-month program that supports the development of both founder and venture. Camelback provides coaching, capital, and connections through the Fellowship, believing that these three pillars are critical to the evolution and success of an organization. We focus our skill- and resource-building on sessions on five Core Competencies that we believe are critical to the success of ventures at this stage.

COACHING - Camelback gives each Fellow their own coach called an Entrepreneurial Engineer. This dedicated 1:1 coaching enables regular strategy, accountability, and support. Entrepreneurial Engineers can help with anything from listening to your pitch to making introductions to analyzing pricing strategies. Camelback also provides specialized coaching in key areas (such as budget management and pitch deck design), and facilitates peer mentorship sessions within each purposefully chosen cohort.

CAPITAL - Camelback offers "friends and family" stage funding and support to new leaders with promising ideas, and empowers them to enact change within their communities. Camelback invests $40,000 in each Fellow’s venture. We facilitate introductions with investors and develop connections for post-Fellowship opportunities. We provide what we call integrated investing (through coaching, capital, and connections) to ensure our ventures maximize their social impact.

CONNECTIONS  - Fellows build important relationships in a number of ways, including strong bonds with their cohort, meetings with investors and potential partners throughout the Fellowship, particularly at in-person Summits. Each Summit offers workshops with field experts and community networking events. The final Summit includes a Showcase in the Bay Area in which Fellows have the opportunity to pitch to a large audience of potential stakeholders.

We believe that social ventures founded by entrepreneurs solving problems in their own communities are more likely to create lasting impact. Therefore, we prioritize local entrepreneurs, or individuals who are focused on creating educational and economic opportunities within their own cities, neighborhoods, and schools.

We raise charitable donations to make investments in early-stage startups. From there, our model of investing in social ventures is three-fold. We provide integrated investing  (coaching, capital, and connections) — to ensure our ventures maximize their social impact. After investing and scaling the impact of our social ventures, we then recycle our returns to make new investments.
